Produced by Angiuli Donato in Acquaviva delle Fonti, Puglia. Made from 100% Primitivo grapes sourced from 60-year-old bush vines (alberello). The vineyards grow on clay-loam soils under the hot Apulian sun.
The grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, followed by about ten days of maceration. After gentle pressing, the wine rests in steel before being bottled, where it matures for several months before release.
The color is deep ruby red with purple highlights. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and jammy red fruit, with sweet spice and faint balsamic hints. The palate is full-bodied, warm, and enveloping, with soft tannins, rich texture, and a long, velvety finish. Despite its power, it maintains good balance and freshness.
Best served at 16–18 °C. Ideal with grilled meats, lamb, hearty pasta dishes, and aged cheeses.
Magnum format (1.5 L) enhances its aromatic development and ageing potential, offering greater harmony and smoothness over time.
