The Lungarotti IlBio Umbria Rosso IGT Organic is made from 100% Sagrantino grapes grown in certified organic vineyards at the Turrita estate in Montefalco. The winery describes it as being produced entirely from Sagrantino, the flagship grape variety of Montefalco.
Aged for about 10 months in large oak casks (30 hL), followed by at least 6 months of bottle ageing before release.
Deep ruby with garnet hints. Intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum, violet, liquorice, sweet spices and tobacco. Full-bodied with firm tannins, fresh acidity, concentrated dark fruit and a long, savoury finish.
